Me, dodge and burn are now good friends. :)
I went out with mpeters to Point Reyes and we went to Sculpture Beach. It was socked in with fog though so no sunset. This was a pretty amazing beach lots to shoot, but the weather just didn't cooperate. Converted from raw for top and bottom, then converted to black and white, a lot of curves levels selectively for top and bottom, and then lots of burning of dodging, but mostly to the foreground and rocks, some to the sky, but when I underexposed from raw a lot of it was already there.

WOW This picture is amazing! I've never realized how spactacular the ocean looks in black and white. I love your composition and how you captured the movement of the water along with the darkness in the clouds, it's mysterious yet comforting.

Absolutely gorgeous shot! Thought this was in Santa Cruz ( my old hometown) but didn't remember that rock there (even had to go check my pics to see), knew it had to be CA tho. Wish I could go on your GTG, but will be visiting during the week July 18. Congratulations on a stunning shot, well presented and a high placing!! One of my ribbon pics! You Rock!!

Great sense of flow in the water and erosion on the rocks. I also like how you lined up (Intentionally?) the other rock jutting out from the water through the arch.

Beautiful b&w tones in this scene. I can almost feel the rush of water and the sounds of the water rushing in and out. Great photo!

Wow, great shot.
I would have preferred a wider aspect rather than a square crop.

Came out great Joe. I had a super saturated version loaded but it wasn't working so I chose BWtoned. I'm sure a couple of people will connect the two.

Really nice use of black and white. The contrast is great. Nicely composed as well. Good luck!
