Challenge: New Year's Resolution II (Classic Editing)
Camera: Olympus C-2040Z
Location: My office, again
Date: Jan 6, 2004
Date Uploaded: Jan 6, 2004

Self-portrait depicting a resolution to keep my mouth shut, listen more, think before I speak that sort of thing. I used clear tape since I always associate black tape with sensorship/propaganda photos. I didn't want any one area in sharp focus, I think the point is clear, I guess you'll let me know.

Cropped a bit off the top and resized.

I love the idea, the shot is great, but you look so sad.

LOL Let me clear up the misconception right now, this is JUST a photograph I did for a challenge, has no real personal meaning for me as I do not subscribe to new year's resolutions. And for the record, listening and valuing what other's say is NOT the same as remaining silent through turmoil and laying down for others to walk apon. Thanks!

Good concept for a resolution! Might want to try duck tape :-) I like the photo, but perhaps her left side is a litte too dark.

Interesting setup and image, but the darkness on the right makes the photo have more of a mood of horror than anything else.

Good resolution! I like the picture, the light effect is excellent, the subject has a deep look. Congratulation. 10

Interesting diet technique! Kidding aside, not a bad photo. Good angle of the subject's head. Interesting expression in the eyes. Good lighting.

Nice idea, well shot. I think a little less contrast between the two sides of the face would have bee better; having it disappear into dead black is unsettling.

A brave attempt at an arty approach. Always high risk since passion and hate for a photo are usually around in equal measure!

Great execution of a concept that fits theme very well. could it have been better with opaque tape? I can't say. well done.

lol wonderful idea. I only would of liked the tape larger (duct). This works but I believe there would of been a little more impact. Your lighting is really good as is the focus. Good idea, good title, good shot.
