 It's a bent hasp - the bit that slides over the ring to put a padlock on.

why is the colour so blah, i'd like to know... i tried everything to change it, but when i saved for the web, the green just went flat. it should be a lovely bluey green, and it's just yucky now.

I don't find the green unpleasant, and can't tell you why it went flat. I like the haspy thing, especially with it's shadow, which seems to drip down and run out of the picture.

This image has a subject but could use some sharpness. That's the beauty of Macro Photography to me... being able to see textures that ordinarily unnoticed.

It looks metal but it could be painted wood or plastic. A latch of some sort?

It's an angled piece of steel with a slot to attach it to something. Maybe the green part is a sign it's attached to.

appears to be a latch. nice DOF, but the light/reflection on the right is a bot distracting.

A latch of some sort. The colour is nice and calming. It would have been more interesting if the drop of water on the end of the latch would have been larger. I also find the out of focus light spot very distracting.
