I love the way the composition makes the clouds feel like they are ominously hanging over the city in such a menacing, threatening way. Beautiful colors too!

not much negative space except for those cool bitemarks called a skyline... :P

omg you did a photo in color lol. Love the contrast range from stormy blue to golden yellow. The storm is an awesome presence in the negative space.

I LOVE what you did here - the space you gave the sky was absolutely GORGEOUS! I love the hues and just all round image!

Love the moody sky and how it dwarfs that massive city!
Agree with Shanny on the score!

I'm glad the score improved a little... certainly not where it should be though :( Besides the wonderful brooding mood, what knocks me out about this is the relative scale. That cloud is colossal! This looks like a movie poster. The Perfect Storm Takes Manhattan the Day After Tomorrow. Well seen and shot, as usual :)

this is great! it reminds me of living there and feeling so small... then taking the ferry out and watching the city become tiny, and finding my place in it again as i reapproached. thanks for this beautiful emotive reminder! the whole thing reminds me of stieglitz' pics of the city many years prior.

Wow! Way to go making the most of crummy weather. Most people stay in their houses and mope in weather like this! You get out and create fabulous photography!

not clear enough imo and the colors make it kind of bland to me.

This is a brilliant image ... up to half way through the dark cloud. Everything above that is superflous and takes the eye out of the image.

I think negative space is what this image is all about. I hope this finishes well, 'cause when I think negative space, this is the what my brain sees.

nice. not sure if there's 'too much' negative space or not. Love te way Manhattan looks. You got the tiny size, but it's nice and clear.

I like this. Wish the cityscape were a bit further up from the bottom of the photograph. Mean looking storm!

This picture is amazing, not so much inline with the theme...

I really like the sinister clouds, could be sharper for my taste.

you know, this is a really beautiful image in some respects. The color tones are amazing, as is the texture. But, by the title and the sheer size within the frame, I would say the subject is the sky rather than the ground. I am adding this to my favorites regardless.
