 Close-up of mineral bookend...I actually tried to improve on a shot that I had already done. I used a desk lamp to light from one side and cropped out the white wall in the back. I don't have a macro lens so my options were limited for the ideas I kept coming up with.

looks like a rock we studied in geology.. alexandrite? ( I didnt sroce so well, hehe) nice detail and colors.

there are some strange lines here i can't figure out. the colors are great, but the dof is puzzling.

This looks like rusted paint but it could be a rock or type of mineral. The large area on the right that is not in focus is a bit of a distraction, more DOF might be better.
