This little guy peaked out at me yesterday morning as I was enjoyed the morning with a cup of coffee. He was so cute, I just had to get a shot of him. I could not beleive he did not run away. I was so glad I took the idea of this challenge seriously, which was to carry my camera with me everywhere all week and capture something. This little guy made my day.

Aren't all animal shots candid?? :)

At first I didn't see the mouse/rat what ever it is and gave it a 4. Now I noticed the creature and give you a 6

I don't think the voters will count this as a candid, especially since it took me several seconds just to find the little guy...

Obviously, not posed, but doesn't seem much like a "candid" to me, either. It took me a second to see the little critter. At first, I thought you meant the statue was your visitor, and I was wondering why you wanted it out of focus.

I struggle a little with animals as candid, although to be fair you do seem to have captured a lovely moment in time. Might have preferred a tad more zoom on the chipmunk/squirrel as the statue in the upper left is a bit of a distraction and draws the eye away from what it should be looking at

Just a little too overexposed in the rocks behind which take your focus away from the little critter.

I think a candid cannot be of an animal......

IMO candids need people...and this, whilst cute, takes a bit for the viewer to see the animal.

This cutie is lost among the rocks as he blends in with the colors

An animal for candid is a little bit of a cop-out to me. Even still, the subject gets lost in the picture. Maybe some burn and dodge to help the focus.

DNMC IMHO
