This is a true candid taken on the street.

PP:

Pseudo HDR from single RAW capture tone mapped in Photomatix. Photoshop: Cropped. Duplicate layer with B&W gradient map applied and local contrast enhanced 2 or 3 times with high radius / low amount USM on this B&W layer. Opacity of B&W layer reduced to around 70%. Flattened, slight vignette added and a bit of noise added. Convert to sRGB, resize, save for web.

Nice shot but I'm put off a little bit by the processing. I wonder why you chose b/w for this. To me, this shot screams for the color to be put back. It' is also a little grainy. Interesting bokeh though.

What wonderful post processing! I would love to know about how you got all the dynamic highlights on his chest and the guitar and hands. Depth of field is AMAZING i have to get myself a new lense

Lovely image of a grizzled old guitarist. Have you done a very gentle desat on the packet of victory? it provides a lovely counterpoint to the rest of the frame
