This young man was sitting at a table all by himself at the park in Salida. He was just staring at his cell phone as if he was expecting someone to call or send him a text message. There are so many young people who are so attached to their cell phones - sometimes, I think it's a bad thing. It would be better if they had "in the flesh" friends instead of cell phone friends.
Editing: Crop, adjument layers for levels and curves; flatten; change to black and white with channel mixer; selective color to adjust black, white and neutral tones; noise removal with Helicon Filter; crop again; resize; smart sharpen; dodge and burn his face a bit and use blur tool a bit on background.

I really like this shot, for a mono/duo tone though, I think it needs a little more contrast. Otherwise, you've captured the way folk look at their phones well.
