Well I just made my way here to leave a comment and have to say GO RINA! Although you should never have had to justify your image or your actions, once placed in that position you have shown us all that how an image matches a challenge is down to how the photographer perceives that challenge and how they make the most of their surroundings.

What the voter than has to take a moment to do is see the world through the eyes of that photographer. I fear that Bob has a very limited 'view' of the world...My dictionary tells me the following... Candid - informal; unposed: a candid photo. ...nowhere does it suggest a candid to be a photograph ONLY of a stranger...

Rina, this is a nicely taken well edited image and deserves the great score it received! :o)

IMO, the point of DPC challenges is not to meet them to the letter, but to meet the spirit of the challenge. Photographing a family member in your car is not meeting the spirit of the challenge in my book. What did you learn with this shot? Did it take as much courage as photographing a stranger? Was it as hard to anticipate the expression as someone you've never met? And in this particular shot, what was so special about this expression that it had to be captured for posterity? Why would you have taken this shot if it wasn't for a DPC challenge? Will it stand the test of time? It's exactly the sense of context (the inside of a car) that makes this a poor shot for me. The reason for the shot has to have been stalking a kid or a family snapshot.

Nice shot and sharp focus. This is very nice in the duotone look.

An elegant portrait. I like the dirty car windows that block any distracting elements from the outdoors.

Good side on profile I love the fact that there is so much unanswered in the shot including the very obvious things such as the age and sex of the subject. Good B&W conversion

Lovely photo, but unless you're in the habit of pointing your lens inside other people's cars this must be someone known very closely to you. Candid challenges are a great opportunity to push your comfort zone and take photos of people you don't know.
