| The only suggestions I could make would be for greater sharpness (maybe greater depth of field or a sharply designated focus point on the arm?) and more contrast. But I am a contrast fiend, so don't mind me. I really like this image; the tones are lovely and I like the choice of subject. I'm always photographing chain-link fences myself, because I find them aesthetically pleasing. I wonder what that says about me. ;-) |

| First, I like the shot; there are good tones throughout and the B&W works well here. I agree that the center post should probably be vertical, but I also think a slightly wider DoF might strengthen it. You have an "in-focus" area going from just left of center top down toward the middle, where it starts to fade. Either placing this in-focus area in the upper left "thirds" zone, or making it run full vertical top to bottom might make this a little more natural and effective for me. I like the subject matter here, and the way it's presented, so nothing to add there; it has a nice, fluid feeling from the lines and the angle of the clasp. |

| I really like how the gate isn't completely locked. A feeling of easy access, or the fear of the dog getting out of the yard. Along with this the overall treatment is one of soft gentle lines. There is a story here I feel. Very nice. |

| At first I thought the focus was a bit soft, but I think I like that it has a soft feeling since it's such a hard object processed in cool tones. It's an interesting balance for me. |

dof rolloff is pleasant.... wide open nature of this lens is attractive.
The half round gate latch is a interesting addition to your circular theme. |

| I really love this one, but since you asked for criticism: vertical objects (tall buildings, pipes, etc) can be tricky. For example, in this photo I wonder if the center pipe should be the guiding vertical -- a small rotation to the left *might* be in order. Otherwise I love the grayscale and the dof. Good choice of ordinary object! |
