I voted this much higher then the end score, thought it was well done....I think your PP is great, the darker edges pull your eyes to the path, I also disagree with the B&W 5 comment, that doesn't make sense.

I really think it is a shame that this picture did not do better. I thought it was remarkable. As for the comment about not being able to rate any black and white photo's above a 5, I disagree. I think black and white makes at easier to focus on the details without distracting the eyes with color. That does not mean I like only B&W, but sometimes it is just the best way to look at a photo. Great shot, still not the best in the competition but it was one of my favorites.

Simple, dirty and wonderful. Proving that you can make great photographs of almost anything. 8

Nice BW conversion, but no strong subject for the image. The flowers on the sides of the path are too jumbled together to provide a clear subject to look at, but because there's so much going on there it distracts the eye from your main subject

Strong and dynamic contrast, and the tones assist nicely in focusing the attention towards the areas of interest. Well done!

I am probably a small minority, but I have difficulty rating any B&W photos higher than a 5, when today’s photographic technology makes vivid and vibrant color so easy. This would have been better in color in my humble opinion.
