dear father, I beseech you. I love how the boy is in a prayerfull submitting pose, as if ready to give his life up if the statue commands it. But the statue just gazes down on him in stoney silence. But who can say if the child hears something or not. Children have powers that are given up as they progress to adulthood.

Thoughtful grace enfolds this child. A lovely photograph and well under appreciated with this score.

Crop out Neptune, my eye - he's gazing down right at the boy! Great composition.

I think that I would have cropped Neptune out. The lower half of the picture is great.

Well I can't put into words why I like it but I do. It kinda speaks to the state of affairs on the environment and the next generation being left to deal with it.

I am probably a small minority, but I have difficulty rating any B&W photos higher than a 5, when today’s photographic technology makes vivid and vibrant color so easy.

too much contrast between the light and shadow... lost some great detail in the statue

I see the water in there, only after a bit more studying. Seems like the child and the statue are the main subject of the picture though.

Love the black and white! I would have liked to see neptune's arm not cut off in the top of the frame. Still a really nice photo, good job.
