 These little birds are really quite hard to spot, as they tend to either be in amongst the meadow grasses, or flying very high in the sky. They are ground nesters, and it is possible that this one was guarding a nest. I heard it singing fairly close by, and luckily found it before it flew away. Taken with my new 100-400mm lens - I LOVE it!

The bottom of the shot and the bird is great! The white sky is awful. The composition feels bottom heavy to me. I wish the bird was bigger... perhaps a tighter crop? Not sure about the oof grain on the right.

A beautiful capture of this little lark. I think it is a little flat in the midtones. Some contrast could really make this pop! I like the composition and your angle, with the horizon below the bird. 6 from me.
