 I chose this location and compositon as I thought the series of repeated shapes - arches, rectangles and triangles - fitted the challenge well. I decided on black and white as it allowed enough contrast to show the intricacies of the metal wrk on the under-sie of the bridge; a secondary efect is that attention is not drawn to the bright blue and red signs that otherwise detract a little from the scene. I would have liked to take the photo straight on, but this would have involved standing in the river, which is around 14 ft deep at this point...

Post-processing:

Convert from RAW using RawShooter essentials 2006
- saturation to 0
- increase contrast
- add a very little fill-light
- reduce colour temp to 2800

Open in Photoshop Essentials 4
- shrpen (USM 75, 7, 1)
- resize
- sharpen (USM 35, 2, 0)
- save for web

This is a nice image and composition, but there does not seem to be anything too white. The lightes shade I can see is kind of a muddied up white, maybe 20% grey. I would like to see brighter whites in this image too.
