Really makes no difference that the upper right corner is not in focus (probably to do with the dof) as the main area of intrest is the stitching. I like how you captured the detail of the stitches and cover of the ball. Nicely done.
Though subjectively not "high impact" for me, this has interesting lighting and composition, and the repetitive pattern of the bright red "lacing" gives it some visual impact.
Beautiful study of two contrasting textures and the red against the beige and brown of the ball surface works very well. Composition is also strong with the off-centred diagonal line curving up to the corner of the frame. Lighting seems a little weak to the right.
WOW! This is definitely one of my very favorites for the challenge. I think this will be top 3. I’m hoping anyway. Excellent focus and great DOF. Super sharp feel to this shot. Makes me want to run and get my glove. Good luck with the challenge!!!
