Great idea. Perhaps the flash does not work so well.

Good perspective choice.

This is a good candid and it meets the challenge. Your subject is not particularly 'inspiring' overall... The 'wow' factor is just not here... This challenge required some deep thought for sure :) - 5 - jmsetzler

find overall lighting to be underexposed

mood captured - silly humans from a pet's perspective
sincerity of expressions - can't see any faces; body language is average

What kind of dog is that? Looks similar to my Rhodesian Ridgebacks'. Anyway, I know exactly what this dog is thinking. Now I know his perspective too. Good candid shot with nice color and focus. I like the fact that the ice cream (?) is right above the center of the dog's head. No bones about it, you did a good job.

These were some of the rules I set up for myself as I prepared for the candid challenge:
The backs of heads or people are not candid.
The subject cannot be very far away.
Animals live by instinct or are trained to do certain things, they are not candid.
Here with your entry you have broken all my rules. This IS candid. I can see from the stance and ears that this dog has something on his mind and it doesn't have anything to do with his training. Even if his instinct is telling him "this might be something good to eat" you have caught the instant between the thought and the deed. Good job!! Technically I think the photo needs some help, and for most challenges it would get lower scores for backgraound, set-up, angle, and lighting to name a few. However, for candid it is great. =7 syamjonimi ;'-D

I'm afraid I'm not too fond of the composition, and I'm a bit iffy on whether it meets the "candid" requirement. Maybe if the dog's expression, along with the ice cream, were visible, I'd rank it a little higher.
