taken at an old church in picton ... the beautiful stained glass windows are covered with wire netting to protect from vandals ..

the 'good' and 'bad' i'm referring to in my title is the general belief that the church is 'good' and vandals are 'bad' ... i dont necessarily agree with such a generalisation, which is why i put good & bad in inverted commas ..

Another fantastic shot. I love the way you've processed this, it has a very harsh look which is perfect for the image. Great job!!

Well for me the sharpened image works very well for this and not only shows the protection but also makes the lines on the window stand out (as in appear 3d)

I agree with you about the crop, m thoughts on this (for what they are worth) is that basically this sort of centred shot works really well when you have got a symettrical pattern. because of the two windows and the mesh you feel as if you are going symettrical but then the right hand side of the arch although it is the same shape as the ledt hand side of the arch kinda throws the image out because of the difference in tones of each side. Just a thought

Great textures on this. I like the conversion. I just took some photo's in Boston the other day and one of the churches there had a mesh under all of the doorways (where most of the details were) to keep birds from nesting.

Yeah, its a shame to mess up what looks like an obviously beautiful stained glass window with wire mesh :( How people are brave enough to vandalize a church at the risk of. . .I don't know. . .their souls or something. But it does make a very interesting photograph, and I think the sharpening works great.

I love your stories, Roz! I love how you are so conversational -- its like really hanging out with you. You're awesome!

Don't know what you started with - did you crop any out?

I do like the texture very well - interesting take on what could have been an average church shot!

What an amazing textural effect this has, re the wonderful stained glass church windows, covered with this wire netting for protection.....
Definately something one doesn't see everyday.
The effect almost looks like lace.....
Thanks for sharing this one with us Roz.....

i like the harsh look in this. i don't know what you refered to as good and bad but i see it as the subtle difference of toning between the light toned left side frame vs dark toned right side frame.
