Not a bad family shot, but why is it tilted?

I think that three out of four people in this image know its being taken, so I don't see how its really "candid". sjgleah

Good idea, composition needs work. 5

Makes me dizzy. Really needs straightening and clearer focus. Good composition though.

Seems pretty grainy. The angle of the sun is a bit bad for your subjects with shadows cast across their faces. Not much detail. Odd photo angle. 6 Swash

Maybe I'm missing something here, but this looks too much like a posed photo to fall into the category of candid for me... I don't think the camera tilt really improved this particular image....

3 = Meets the Challenge

5 = Visual Impact
X = Image Quality (N/A for me this challenge)

I fail to see how this is a candid shot. I question if it meets the challenge. Maybe by an extremely broad definition.

Hmmm, looks candid. Also looks crooked and out of focus.

I do not like the framing, and the image quality is sub par.

It could be a nice shot if you level the horizon and crop ost of the right part of the scene. look at //www.pbase.com/image/4443361/original
it is still out of focus but the composition is better.

mood captured - trying to get a family pose to cooperate
sincerity of expressions - good (love the mom looking off at ?? -- usually its one of the kids that can't cooperate)

It seems like you may almost be taunting people into giving this a bad rating. The title suggests that the group should be looking into the camera (which they are), and that defeats the "candid" requirement. Even putting that aside, I'm not fond of the tilted effect and the clarity and composition of the image. Sorry...

caught her candid didn't you, but I dislike the angle---6

out of focus a bit....
09/02/2002 10:46:00 AM
neat idea. it seems a bit out of focus though, beyond that, great candid idea.
09/02/2002 02:39:00 AM
too posed...
09/02/2002 12:25:00 AM
did something happen to this when you resized it? Angle doesn't add to it, and three of the people are posed.
