The Guaranty Building was designed by Louis Sullivan, known as the "Father of the Skyscraper," and constructed in 1894-95. Sullivan, a student of Frank Furness and mentor to Frank Lloyd Wright, is considered one of the most famous American architects of the 19th century. A pioneer of the tall office building, his theories paved the way for the emergence of the modern skyscraper. The architecture of Chicago and much of the Midwest was shaped by Sullivan's distinctive style.

Hi dsterner,
Great image, love the detail & texture. Nice sharp, clean image. I just don't see it fitting the challange the image just seems to have no startng or ending point (vanishing). Other then that it is as I said a great image !

Love how people take pleasure in typing out DNMC - as if to impart with you their depth of knowledge of photography in 4 letters.

(Oh maybe it means Desires Not to Make Comment - hmmmmm)

I do love the lines and texures in this. The color and focus is spectacular. I think you probably got the infamous 4 letter comment because your point simply ends instead of vanishing. (Let me know if you do not understand). Otherwise, I hope you can find a way to use this building for another challenge - it's a beautiful shot!

Nice repeating patterns and I like the color tones. Looks like the top of the building kind of squelched the vanishing point(s)? Needed a taller building. :D Good luck in the challenge.

Great shot. I would have prefered more symetry.
