Love the comparison between the one looking down and the one on the stairs. Kind of haunting in a sense. |

My first thought was "What's happened?". Had a fall? Being taunted by other children? Missing mummy? As a mother of a seven year old myself, a sullen expression like this breaks my heart. I want to rush over to the child and scoop him(?) up in my arms to comfort. The darkness seems to compound the sadness. |

i like the possible story here... like the child has been rejected by her peers or is way ahead of her time in thought process...

Overall, a pretty shot. The light spot is nicely on the girl's face, raising the natural contrast, and the woman's silhouette in the top right "makes" this shot by adding a semantic contrast. But I think that it's too tight in the frame, I'm wishing for a wider angle version of the same shot. |

stunning. for some reason the child above her seems like a memory, and the rectangles behind her head seem like gravestones. I also enjoy letting my mind complete the BROOKLYN. It makes me think that I can complete the rest of the picture as well, which is currently obscured by a child's dark imaginings... or rather some dark place she goes sans imagination, some place of complete attention to mystery. |

There's so much interest here. I like the lighting just on his face. And the low key look is something very nice and a little unexpected for a playground photo of a child. It gives a seriousness to the photo. I like that you can see the hint of another child in the background.
I agree: a very strong photo.

Subtle and lovely, I love the light on the child's hair. |

It is quite a deep strong image, that make one really look harder, to see what is happening here..... Well done.....
A really nice play of light and dark in this one as well.....

Great lighting on the childs eyes which works well with the low key nature of the rest of the shot. Your dof really works to perfection in this shot |
