it was a mistake having iso/800 ...
when i was taking the photograph, i wondered for about .01/sec why i was getting such a fast shutter speed, at f14 ... obviously i need to apply a bit more thought to my photography !! .. i realised my mistake when i downloaded images onto computer ...
this is bracken which is a bit'v a weed ...
this is the workflow ...

you really have a lovely way of making something you call "boring" and turning it into something quite interesting. love the light and shadows on the leaves.

Almost looks like it was shot at night under moon light. On the one hand, I like how it looks. On the other, it's hard to distinguish things within the photo.

Roz, you little beaut....great image with really interesting lighting in the main frame.

I love what you have done with the graduated border not seen this done in too many pictures and it works brilliantly

Ok, so you seem to have a way of taking "dull" and "boring" subjects and making them something beautiful. I wish I had your talent. Very nice, again! :)

Great DOF, even at 800 it doesn't appear grainy. Nice tonal range across the photo, I like the frame as well.

Amazing detail. The border add a certain classy feel to the photo. I do not find this boring at all.

Roz, I love the way you do this! Its so artistic and unique just to your style! I sure don't think it looks noisy either -- so the 800 ISO didn't hurt you. I think you're in good company tho of people who forget to do that. I do it aLOT. . .only I usually leave mine on 1600, which is really hard to compensate for!

I think this is awesome!

Oh Roz - this is beautiful, luminous, great processing. What is wrong with this? Nothing!! Great DOF and detail - like the frame thing. It's awesome.

I'm not sure why you don't like this (other than that you're hyper-critical of your work). It's an interesting take on the subject, with nice highlights and dark tones throughout, and lots of interesting patterns. Visually it's appealing to me. But no, I don't care for the border here, either ;)

P.S. You can tell PS to save your editing steps, either in a separate document or in a text file (or both); you can cut and paste that list in the description and save yourself the work of a separate image upload if you want to (I'm told it's also useful for verifying challenge entries, but as I've never placed high enough to be asked, I can't testify to that myself)!
