This shot was actually rather easy. I took two pieces of plastic, placed bubbles from dishwashing solution and water onto one of the sheets, and covered it with the other. This created some nicely shaped bubbles. underneath I placed aluminum foil down and creased it so it would break up the muted background.

I then took it to PS and turned up the cyan to give it a more underwater feel.

I am please, this being my first entry and all. I think it's a great start to some wonderful photos.

greetings from the critique club

Well, first off, welcome to DPC, and congratulations on a very nice first entry!

First, I like this picture overall. The large bubble placed off center and the lighting are quite nice. I'm a bit confused with your aperture listing, but it looks as though there is an area in the top left that is not quite as sharp as the rest. this picture feels like it wants everything to be in focus for maximum impact. I don't know if you used a tripod, but you can use a tripod to stabilize the camera to close the aperture (maybe try and f/11 or something) so the top left will be as sharp as the rest of the picture.

In the big bubble, there is a bit of water or something, but it seems to be a bit ill defined. Again, I think a more close aperture will help that.

You have a lot of creativity and a good eye, and I look forward to seeing your future entries

Cheers

Nice job, but it looks a bit too grainy in the upper left corner.

no idea what this is or how it was down but that doesn't really matter, it looks cool to me! But it gets me wondering how this would have look with different colour lighting in the background, and perhaps a little less bright?

lovely colors and shapes - would have liked it a little better if it were a little sharper in focus

Very nice photograph. I love the small bubbles contrasted with the one large bubble. Great colors and tones as well. Nice photo.
