Murex Ramosus is species of conch shells. This one was acquired from the ocean floor 20ft down below, in Philippines.

I took this image in our bathroom in complete darkness with only two little flash lights shining on and tiny minichristmas lights stuffed inside the shell. One flashlight I wrapped with saran wrap and used blue sharpie to make a simple gel, and the other flashlight I actually put in a red plastic translucent bathroom cup (the one we brush our tees with), which provided the colourful shades of red.

Postprocessing was minor, colour adjustments, levels, sharpening in Photoshop.

This is well done, looks like your shell is floating in air-- excellent light- 10

The colors give this an interesting abstract look. It took me a minute to see that this is a shell.

I like the blue backlight - how it catches the edges of the shell - wish the left hand side had the same highlights. The yellow center has a great glow - is the shell that smooth and uniformly colored on the inside - it feels like the light has washed out the details.

Pretty. I think this meets the challenge, and with some flare, but the emphasis here to me is color, not shape!

Really like this, good use of lighting, like the blue on the right hand side.

Don't understand the Title of the pic. Otherwise the shot is kind of interesting.

Very nice but the yellow in the middle disturbs me. I can hear the ocean on mars... shhhhhh

Funky lighting! The yellow is intriguing, but the blue almost makes is seem mobile somehow.
