 This is a composite of 5 photos: one for hair, one for landscape, one for sky and two for flowersun, all taken on the same day. oh, and the sky was blended with exclusion (or difference?) so it's kinda reversed. and I flipped it, too, so it's really reversed (and some mountain got flipped, too. see that? but dpc loves symmetry!).

Thanks to skewsme for becoming 50 feet tall and then dunking herself in the reservoir.

post-challenge: thanks for comments! I kind of like the Surreal/collage effect of the hair island. But I appreciate the advice to shade the bottom and have it blend more. To be honest, that hadn't occurred to me.

Neat shot. I like the flower sun a lot. I agree about needing to blur the bottom of the island a bit, but mostly I just think how intriguing it would be to see this as you're walking along!

You know, I gave this a 6 in the challenge because it made me laugh. I guess I am slow. I did not get it I think because of the title. I liked the sun - very pretty and stands out well - and because it was different!

Woah, this is one trippy image. But I also find it very well done - I'm really surprised it didn't finish higher. Definitely in the spirit of Team Suck; you do us proud, Fearless Leader!

Interesting shot. Well thought out. I would have rated it higher except for the fact that, in my opinion, where the hair and the water meet is too precise. If you had roughened it up a bit...cannot think of the correct word for the process (age is horrible on the intelligent mind) but this way just seems too 'clean' of a cut.

Otherwise... nicely thought out shot. The flower representing the sun was a nice touch!

creative idea, but you need a better merging technique. The bottom edge of the hair is just straight and looks very fake.

I don't know what I am looking at and based on the title, I am afraid to ask. The blending of the "island" at the waterline could be improved. Overall, it's creative and the base image looks very nice. Good luck with it.

blending seems to be off around the head. looks like it was just stuck on top of the water. You might have wanted to add some reflections to the water....see the top right mound in the water? similar reflections like that would have made this more believable. I also don't get the flower in the right hand corner?

I guess it took a lot of time to compose this one, but the result is not so good... I like very much the concept ot the flower/sun, but it would have been better on a clean sky, the sun cannot be beneath the clouds! Also the hairy island is a nice idea, it goes well with the other islands and I appreciate that you can see where it is hit by the sun rays, but its lower edge is too sharp, it looks like if it was scissor cut from another picture and pasted here. It doesn't merge with the rest of the picture and I think that the overall result is poor. But don't be discouraged, you have been very creative and I'm sure that if you exercise with this technique you can reach better results. Good luck!

Interesting concept. The PP details distract me from the composition. I'm not a PP expert, but I believe feathering the edges would help. Nice.
