 Taken from the road to Nesjavellir. Saw this perspective and made a handbrake turn.
I did the following with it:
1. Adjusted basic features in Picasa, such as lighting, colors and sharpness.
2. In Photoshop I adjusted levels to auto.
3. Made 2 curves, one for the sky and one for the mountains and the forground. Masked them and adjusted opacity.
4. Used burn on the clouds and mountains. Dodge on the forground and the snow.
5. Finally sharpened it with USM.

The light in this very beautiful scene is so luminous...and wow what an incredible expanse of land. Stunning!

Slightly crooked? I think less foreground and more focus on the background would have imporved this greatly.

This could have been a boring shot, but the way it was composed provides a lot to look at. Good colour, well-captured reflection in the water, and generally good crispness throughout.
