A butterfly at the exhibit in the greenhouse in the park. The brochure labels it as a "White Tree Nymph" from South East Asia. The exhibit has been here for a few weeks and it will only be here until the end of April so I was lucky to be able to photograph them for this challenge. This is the first time the greenhouse has had a live butterfly exhibit (which coincidentally comes from the Newfoundland Insectarium in my home town, the only insectarium in eastern Canada). There are literally no insects here, everything is still covered in snow and the temperatures have been very cold.

I got as close as I could with my macro lens (it is not reverse mounted nor does it have any extenders on it). Image has been resized and sharpened. Outtakes:

Nice clarity. Neat perspective without having all of the wings in the frame. I like it.

Lovely lighting and rich tones. Great clarity. Your selection of how much to keep in the frame is interesting too: always a hard decision to make with a butterfly :-)

Lovely. Love the Black and White contrasts. Would have liked to see a little more light on it's eye though.
