A daisy, and a chain. The daisy is from some flowers I planted in the front box; the chain is a choke chain collar I picked up while shopping for flowers to plant. Shot on the edge of the sink in the bathroom upstairs, where the morning light is wonderful.

Post - cloned some minor spots on the sink; cropped; levels layer with soft light blending mode; channel mixer with 36% red, 64% green, convert to monochrome. High pass sharpen with soft light blending mode. Brightness/contrast -6/+15. Resize.

This one is the lighting, it is too dark. The background is perfect but I would have lit the daisy much brighter. to stand out against the chain.

Deb, what a great idea, and beautiful composition as always. Think you got hurt by loss of detail on daisy's surface due to front lighting. Still think it's fab.

What a pretty pic! Sorry I never got to vote on it - I gave up halfway through because I got sick of staring at chain macros...

This is really good Deb! I love the way you introduced an abstract look and feel to a simple subject. And what a genius idea to create such beautiful light, shadows and kick-butt reflections!

I won't say again that it's ridiculously underrated. I'll just think it, okay?

This was a neat idea and very well executed. The B&W works very well here. Nice contrast.

i liked this during voting but didn't comment. i like the rich blacks and that the chain is separating the light from the dark. very nice as usual, deb.

What?? a score under 6?? that's just wrong!! this should have been top ten!! I think this is just too cool!! The reflection, the concept, the lighting...well congrats on the high 5 score but, it should have been a 6 at least...

Every thing about this image says it should have scored higher, the reflection light & contrast all work well, voters don't spend the time to look at a photo. Congratulations on the strong finish.

I like what you tried to do here. Perhaps the image might be improved by a tighter crop and some more sharpness to the daisy, but overall a good effort.

Great idea & good execution - though a bit blown on the flower which would be alright except the it is the only part that is blown. -- 7 --
