 Opened twice in Raw, first for sky exposure, then for foreground. Saved both pics as psd. Copied background of second pic and drag/shift/click/dropped on first(to align layers). Erased sky of second.

Levels to set black and white points

Color Balance to deepen sky blue (selected sky with Color Range)

Selected sky, Levels layer to brighten

Dodge clouds to brighten

Resize
USM
Border
Save for Web

I still think the unedited version is quite magnificent, but you did a nice job with this. The sky isn't overly "done" which is good. If anything, you may want to go back and just de-pink the clouds at the very top just a little bit. The editing did bring out the richness at the ground level quite well.

wow roger ... you've taken a stunning photograph and i love your processing .. you've created a totally different feel .. before it was soft and subdued and now its more dramatic ... both are wonderful .. to say which one is 'best' is just a matter of opinion ... i like them both equally, but for different reasons ....
