 Lichen growing on a cypress "knee" in the swamp behind my in-laws place on the edge of the Everglades. Oh, and some ferns and trees and things too.
It has been very dry, so it is easy to walk thru the swamp now. It rained a little the night before this shot, so everything was colored up nicely.

I love the richness of the greens in this, and just the bit of light poking through the trees at the top. Kind of eerie in a way, and the lichen provides a nice color contrast.

great shot with all the amazing green foliage .. i love ferns so this really appeals to me ... i like the sort of natural dip in the ground that sort of takes your eye to the centre of your image ...
