this is the original version ...

this is version closest to the original colours ...

this is the b&w version that i like ...

the iso was set on 1600 coz i was taking photos for the image grain challenge .. and i edited this after having one hour's sleep in two nights ... after i processed it i decided i didnt like the effect and moved on to creating the b&w version which i do like ...
i stopped writing down the processing steps before i finished, but this is wot i wrote down.

processed thru raw twice using tungsten setting, once dark for the background which looked overexposed and once for under carriage which looked a bit underexposed .. selectively erased to create overall tone i liked and merged the two layers ...
selective colour adjustment layer and in neutrals decreased & darkened cyan and increased yellow ..
another selective colour adjustment layer and increased yellow to get rid of a purple look on the sleepers, opacity 41% ...
did levels adjustment layer too make sleepers a bit bluer and erased everything except the sleepers ...
exclusion adjustment layer - opacity 25%..
soft light adjustment layer opacity 33% and erased most of it ...
did overlay of moss ...
and that's as far as i got ...
of course in there i would have merged all the layers and scaled and changed the dimensions to make carriage look more dramatic etc ...
often ppl can create the look in camera that i've achieved by scaling and changing the proportions coz of different lenses ... but because i dont have another lens i have to do those sort of changes in photoshop ... :)
