This is my father-in-law on his 1946 John Deere "A" tractor.

This is my first attempt at setting up a shot of a person. My mom always asks, "if we dress up as animals, will you take our picture?"

The weird tilt of the tractor is due to there being no flat land anywhere to take the picture. The only flat spot is right in front of the house, and I didn't want house, garage, road or anything else in the shot.

And I wish I had backed up and used my 80-200 lens, because it's sharper than the XTi's kit lens. Live and learn.

Neat looking shot, looks like it would be in a john deere calander. I like the colors

I love the shot. It reminds me of my granddad, except his tractor was an International Harvester. The post processing makes the tractor look a little like a toy, and makes the shot seem a bit like a gentleman farmer showing off his toy. I don't know if you wanted that, or if you wanted to emphasize that this is a working man and his machine. Good pic either way, though.

funny placement of the shaft for the steering, lol. A man and his big John. I wish the man were more in focus though.

wish the focus was more on the farmer ... he gets lost behind that big ol John Deere ... I'd like to see this in B/W after the challenge is over

I love the idea. The tilt of the tractor is a touch "off" but I love that he's in his own environment. Wish the focus on the farmer were a bit better.
