I am sorry but the two birds do not compliment each other, the crop would have been good if just the crow/rook was in the frame and I think you have added too much grain. Sorry..
the shadow seems to have ruled your composition. It's a great shot except for that. I would try a tighter or a wider shot. I won't know until I see it! Not helpful, I know. 6
Really doesn't seem like image grain, but more like a patchy oil-painterly look, as if the image resolution was upsampled way too much with some resizing tool or an effects filter was applied too much. It is a good composition, however, but I am too distracted by the odd texture of the image.
