Direct from camera. Cypress tree on a ditch bank. Air plant (bromiliad) on it.
Zoom @ 85mm. I was set up for shooting while riding, Apreture priority, high ISO, and open aperture for high shutter speed. Stopped the swamp buggy for a few seconds to shoot this. Didn't have time to change settings, and wanted the high color contrast and saturation anyway. Exposed -1 stop for saturation, and to not blow out the white.
Dumb me, posted it 640 wide and it's vertical. Sorry for the big file size : )

I love those cold, white branches. Do you have any pics with a reflection in the water? I love the pops of red. Very cool.

This really has a lot going on - an intricate subject with plenty of interest and a strong composition. I'm looking forward to see it when you're done editing.

Cool looking Tree. I was just wondering if you were in a boat or something. Then I started reading your comment. I guess I should have done that first. Nice job with this.

I love how the roots have a grey cast that almost looks other-worldly. I actually can't imagine you'd want to fool too much with this one - it looks really great the way it is. Will be interested to see your choices!

I too like the white roots that are exposed. This might look good with way too much contrast but you'll have to play with it and see what you think.

Beautiful, Waddy! The colors are so rich, and details are crisp. Awesome job for straight out of camera.

It's really cool how you can see where the water lines used to be.
