These are my grand niece and nephew. I spent the weekend visiting, and we went to the park and the zoo. She was in Day 3 in the petting zoo.

Bright cloudy day using a Tamron MF Zoom 80-210mm Macro 3.8 that I borrowed from my mother (permanantly, I hope). The light meter on my D70s doesn't work with this lens, so I was guessing/adjusting by lcd monitor and histogram. I probably took close to 300 pictures and about 10 or 15 are usable.

Editing suggestions are welcomed.

I think candid photos of kids are the best. You can really tell they are having a lot of fun. If I took this, there would be some blur lol. Great capture!

What a happy pic! I enjoy the contrast in textures with the smooth steel and the tree bark. The kids are having a big time here, and it shows in their faces. Fine action shot, and that lens is a keeper for sure.

This is great! I love the interaction between the children and the bright colors. You did a really good job with in-camera choices. My only suggestion would be to darken the back between the two trees so the children really pop.

GREAT shot - because the emotions come shining through quite clearly! I don't know how much editing this will take - it depends on what you're after. A bit of curves and/or levels and some sharpness might be all you need. You may want to try alternate crops, without them in the center, but in this shot I like the symmetry so center works, too. Have fun with it and try different things. I'd definitely leave it in color, and this is from a B&W person. :)
