Oh I like the dark moody feel. Got a moon you can throw in here? lol The tree in front adds a nice touch. Will be looking forward to seeing the edited version.

I really don't mind the darkness. I think you picked a good exposure to keep the detail in the shadows and highlighs. Maybe just 1/3 of a stop or 1/2 might have made the front a bit brighter, but it's not worth it if you lose the detail (IMO).

Also, the line of the church isn't quite strait...very nitpicky of me, but that's lot of what I'm trying to focus on this challenge...I'm usually HORRIBLE at paying attention to straight horizens, etc. Anyway, I measured it in Photoshop and it's only like .57 degrees off. It doesn't really change much, but rotating it .57 degrees clockwise just makes the steeple look a bit more straight.

I love it, and yes, it looks like the steeple on the church I shot yesterday, but just at first glance. I like the shot, and the color of the sky is brilliant. I think doing anything with the building to the left is going to be double tough. A straight crop won't work (but might if you shift the perspective), and I don't think you could have composed this shot without including the building. A shot from the front without the building would be, well, different. I actually don't mind the building, as I find the church such a draw I really didn't "see" it when I first looked at the shot.

nice image indeed. possibley a slightly different composition, leaving out the buildng on the left, would have made the shot stronger. the sky is lovely and deep. well done.

You have a nice composition going here. Is this your new camera? Looks like it is underexposed by one or two stops - luckily a lot easier to fix in PP than the other way! I will look forward to seeing this one next week. BTW - did you notice how many TS members are in this side challenge? Cool!

Nice composition with the tree. Yes, a little dark.

Very striking color in the sky! The building behind is a wee bit distracting but you can probably crop that if you wish. Love the tree, too.

This has great depth. Love the scene you have chosen. Yes, a bit dark, but not so that it can't stand on its own.

This is a wonderful shot. Are you using a polerizer filter here?. Love the dark sky and the late afternoon light. And the tree, while adding interest, doesn't detract from the subject.

A little dark but a very nice composition. A little bit of editing could make this shot sing.

Oh, I love this shot. It is dark, but that adds to the appeal of it. Slighty eerie, yet majestic. Would make a GREAT shot for a spooky challenege.

I like the blue sky, and that it shows thru the belfry. The tree being so dark adds the "spooky" look.

I, personally, like the light :) I also think it is a beautiful shot.

I like the tree in front of the church. It's a nice crisp image of the brickwork as well. I think you will have a lot to work with in "advanced editing mode".
