I wanted to get a surprised look from my son's best friend, so I had him tell her that he just got 2 front row tickets to her favorite rap band "Eminem" and the look on her face was priceless!

Nice genuine capture of a surprised look, probably the only one in this challenge.
(I wonder why a crowd so intense on the topic of challenge conformity scored you so low…)
Subject probably a little too central, moved too the right a bit would strengthen the composition. I personally would have zoomed in to keep just the eyes and mouth in the frame or zoomed out to have the full face featured.

The white patch behind her shoulder could now be easily cloned out. To avoid having to do this you could have chosen a lower angle for your shot.

Hope this helps, JJ

I can't tell if she isacting or not, so that's very good. The expression is right. The photo is generally well done too, though I wish you had a bit more at the top and the light blue object in the background were'nt there.

Did you just tell her she can't go out this weekend? She looks like she's about to cry, not sure why though.

The cropping took off her forehead and her chin, would have like a tighter crop on the left and higher on the top and bottom. Started at a 6, going to a 7

Nice shot - I'd class that as much shock as surprise, but that's a subset of the same thing, so.... Very nicely set up. The depth of focus may be a bit shallow - the near eye is very crisp, the one further away a bit blurry as it's already starting to go out of focus, which seems somewhat odd.

First photo so far that shows a genuine look of surprise (or a great actress!) 7

Lovely head shot. So clean and sharp. My only suggesion would be to exclude the blue thing in the background and adjust the colours slightly to fix the greenish cast on her hair. Funny, she looks like she is ready to crack up :-))

Genuine expression, cute model, and an awesome photo. Like the clarity and crispness. Would have like to seen what caused the expression.

This photo has a very nice soft touch, that I like. I would like to see this without the blue/green object in the background, it feels like a distraction. Great expression and focus. I would like to see it with a looser crop.
