You should enter this in the childhood challenge. I remember doing this in elementary school and then we went outside to see if they would blow in the wind. I remember it being too windy and all the windmills kind of just folded in half. Anyway...This is the only pencil windmill that I saw in this challenge, so I think you hit the mark with originality. The focus and lighting are good and the angle is ok. I might have either tried to get it exactly up and down, or more crooked. how it stands, it kind of looks like you tried to get it straight, but couldn't. Nice job and good luck in the challenge.

There's a kind of softness and subtelty to this photo that I like.

this is a good concept for this challenge... I like the use of the pencil :) I think two elements could possibly improve this shot as well... 1 - a little more light on the pinwheel to offer some higher level of contrast against the background... 2 - possibly a darker background to make the pinwheel stand out more as well.... good shot :) - jmsetzler

nice idea and shot, i can't believe i am saying this, because i chose a certain color scheme for my shot and people are asking for more color, but ... i would love to see more color in this one. maybe make the windmill part out of colored paper and lighten the background a little? -- gr8photos (5)

you could have done some post processing here, increased the lights... nice concept.

lovely colors..like the high light on the pencil..pencil could be more on an angle or placed off center.

I think a different background and or pinwheel color would have made this pop.

Clean and simple shapes, very geometric. A little too dim and shadowed.

colored construction paper would've given this a bigger POW! But very good idea.

very nice. I think it needs more of contrast

A darker background would have let you have more direct light on the fan (bring the whites up more) and would have made everything stand out in general. Nice shot!

Very creative shot; the very subtle lighting of this shot takes away from the impact of it, for me. I would love to see strong lighting on the subject against some kind of dark or brightly colored background. lhall
