 This is an old, private library (as in it's privately owned - anyone can go there). my mum used to go there when she was a kid.

This looks like a place where the characters in the books came to life a long time before TV took all the fun out of reading to the kids and grandkids.
Their roof is going to need a workover sometime soon.

this is a perfect example of what people should do to their "normal" pictures of buildings.
with no offence meant to you or anyone else, it makes such a big difference to have a "different" edit of the regular building.
Unless of course the shot is really good in the first place (which this may have been?)
I mean, most of the pictures in this challenge have been very interesting, but they don't really stand out from other stuff.
and as this is a DIGITAL photography site, I think people should digitize their shots a bit more to give them some "pop".

What a wonderful place. I'd love to go spend days there at a time. I think at some point I shall have to come visit you.

Lovely shot, and excellent B&W conversion. There are some spots showing on the roof; are those drops on the lens? I particularly like the sky in this one; subtle, but adding to the shot.
