HDR of RAW image, did a bit of burn on the trees in the background to bring them down in influence. I also dodged the beams in the bridge to highlight the shine off the wood.

The balance of light was actually pretty good as the original image, but the HDR just allowed me to bring out a wee bit more detail in the dark spots

This is one of the best covered bridge shots I've seen. I've been working on photographing the ones in Rutland County for years and have always had trouble balancing the light inside & outside. Don't know why I never thought of this approach; putting the sun behind the front like that, with it still showing through the boards is brilliant. It adds character to the shot and balances the light while leaving great shadows and details in the interior.

it amazes me how an image this good could pass without just one comment ... only been viewed 29 times too ... altho when i think of how many photographs get posted here then ?? .....
I LOVE THIS PHOTOGRAPH!! .. it is a wonderful capture with the sun shining thru the gaps like that ... i love the sense of mystery that this image evokes ... somehow that covered bridge and your orientation have created a feeling of going from one place to an entirely different one .. like into a fantasy .. love the moisture on the boards of the bridge ...
this is a fantastic image ... EXCELLENT ... :):):)
