This is at Rockport, Texas. Believe it or not, the setting sun on the rocks really did make them that rich golden red with a long shutter speed. It was really pretty that night.

I have to admit that the Texas Gulf Coast is not really all that pretty. The water is normally kind of a muddy green looking. But with a good sunset and a little cooperation with wind and "stuff", it can surprise you and be quite photogenic. I've been wanting to go back. Maybe within a couple of weeks we'll do that :)

I think I am running out of superlatives for your photos Sandy! I love the light reflecting off the water in this shot.

Wow Sandy! You picked the right place and moment for this one. The moon light bouncing off the water with the late sun combo is a knock out. First class.
Those look like thatch roof tops on the pier.

I think a lot of what makes a good photograph, and photographer, is to be able to take what could be a "regular" view and imbue it with the richness and awe with which you see life. This is a spectacular view made up of an ordinary combination of elements that just really works because of that. What a lovely shot, Sandy!

As usual Sandy this is just beautiful. I could just sit and stare out over this scene for hours.

Beautiful shot (yes, as everyone says, as we expect from you - no pressure there). Wondeful colors, highlights, colors. Nothing to pick on even if I wanted to (but I don't, I just want to look at the shot).

Very nice sharp horizon. Lovely colors. All of your photos would make great postcards. Great job!

excellent photograph sandy .. love that rich dark sky and that intense browny/red colour of the rocks ... love how thats balanced by very similar colour on the pier .... beautiful glow on the water .... gorgeous ...
and sandy you can warp wotever you like if you've got photoshop CS2 ... just edit/transform/ and then you've got all the options like scale, rotate, skew, distort, perspective and warp ...and then all the rotate options .... i find skew very good if youve taken a shot and the tree or building is leaning into the picture coz of the wide angle ... you can just adjust the lean to make it more 'natural' ... of course the leaning look can be quite effective sometimes too .... and thanks for compliment, but that profile pic, taken a couple of months ago, is extremely flattering ... i'll be 55 next month .. its frightening!!

here I am again, one post behind you!!!!

you've made the water almost shimmer and sparkle.
it's like one of those pictures that change when you go side to side and make the clicking sound when you drag your nails across it.
that was a good desrciption, wasn't it :-)

And you've even captured some stars in the image.
(i know, because I thought my monitor was dusty and tried for a few moments to wipe them off!!!!)

very nice yet again.
but i expect nothing less from you.

Beautiful, Sandy. I do miss the coast, even though I usually went to Galveston. Not really pretty, but could be photogenic, and it does have waves and sand.
