 Out in the country a bit. There are literally hundreds of old barns like this around. Our area has a lot of farmlands. Not huge multimillion acre commercial farming operations (there isn't enough flat land for that), but small family cattle farms, tobacco fields, etc.

This isn't actually a "working farm" but the barn on my brother's property. The horses are my sisters. They were watching intently, and had I gotten closer, they would have surely come to "ask" for their treats. Funny that just two or three days ago the ground was covered in snow.

wow ... awesome photograph .. beautiful rural feel and excellent composition ... love the treeless branches and being able to see thru the barn to the other side, and the road winding off into the trees ... just gorgeous .. and amazing that it was covered in snow 2 days ago coz it looks quite dry ....

Bare trees are tough to sharpen, but the detail in the rest is probably worth the trade-off. I really like the detail in the barn, which is there but not overly bright. Gives a nice feel to the whole shot for me.

Thats my kind of county. Looks like home. As you can probaly tell from some of my posts i love old barns. i like the shadodws it is throwing.

Your brother has such beautiful land! I love that old barn. I think I'd be wanting to spend all my time there. This is so photogenic!
