This is crazy cool. Did you light the tree with something? Headlights or something? I love the stars above and the city lights below.
on the otherside of the hill on the right is a building so that is why the brush and tree are so bright. If you look at the left hand side of the tree you can see it is darker because it id in the shadows of the hill. the more I look at this the more I wish I would have saved it for the FS... I'll find something though :)
wow ... love the infrared feel to this photograph ... be interested to see the original ... excellent cloud formation combining with the tree and the slanted ground .....
Great shot, really nicely done. I had a shot for this something "else" too, but didn't realize it was a minimal editing challenge, and I shot it in RAW. Oh well, I may run it in the free study this month ('cause I like to take a beating). I'm glad we got to see this one now, though!
Oh Joe!!! That is a shame that it needed the editing. That looks like a ribbon photo. Wow. I LOVE the stars!!
I am still working on doing star shots -- but when I leave my shutter open a long time, the stars are streaks from movement. But shorter, and you can't see them. Is there a secret to getting crisp stars like this?
