Love the colours, and detail. Find I am being drawn out of the frame at the left. I think it would work better to have a crop at both sides or to have both sides contained within the frame.

I like the way the image draws the eye from the far left into the picture and then keeps the eye from drifting off the other side. This is very good for a white background. I think white background pictures are difficult to do well. The color combination is appealing also. The little bit of glare on the pencil and at the bottom of the sharpener are the only distracting features. Initially I scored this at the 5 range but now I see it is better than that. =7 syamjonimi

Very nicely done. I especially like the choice of color for the pencil. (think the background is a little grey - but I think it's mostly my monitor) I see how the top half is brighter than the lower half - not sure it's intentional. Very clear image. I like how there is a light green reflection. Great effort. 9

A colored background may have helped this to stand out more, but I really love the shot and concept.

I like the color here on the white background. The angle is good and the point is clear. (no pun intended) The lighting is good, there are no distracting shadows, however there is quite a glare on the pencil. This could have been decreased a bit by placing a thin cloth or thin paper between the light source and the subject. Nice job and good luck with the challenge.

I like your decision to have this flow off the frame. Cool picture.

pencil torture? Good focus but the subject is dead center and horizontal midframe. try livening it up by introducing angles.

Technically well done, meets the challenge. About to breathe its last, the closing moments of an aging pencil…
