Hello from the Critique Club!

My first impression is that this would be a wonderful advertisement for the Museum! The quote is a perfect match for the pose of the Father and daughter. He looks as if he is explaining something to her, and she is looking in awe at something she has seen for the first time. A very impacting photo and a wonderful capture.

I like how the two people are traveling against the lines formed by the quote and the floor tiles. It pulls your eye right to them.

One thing that does bother me is the lighting around the quote. It looks as if you had dodged the tiles around it. The lighting does put attention on the quote, but it seems over done. If this is the natural result, I might have tried to tone it down some.

Overall this is very striking photo and is beautiful in it's simplicity. And congrats on your highest scoring entry to date!

this is a nice shot, but after spending a little time looking at it i am not sure it is street photography. Dont get me wrong though, the shot is good but just not street enough,

I admire the composition. I don't know if the picture will be better if the father and child are more sharply focused and the street script have a shallower DOF. Anyway, I really admire your "capture". 9.

I googled the quote and am surprised to learn that this is an indoor shot! No criticism intended by discovering that fact, btw. Would be even better if the youngster were sharper IMO.

I've seen a few candid images of people walking near this quote set into the floor of the British Museum's Great Court area and I think this is one of my favourites in terms of composition (angle of text and tile edges) and people. My only criticism (which is down to personal taste) is the burning in of the edges (or dodging of the central area, whichever way around it happened to be) to create that uneven vignette/ edging to the image. Though it's fairly subtle on the flooring areas I find it quite clumsily done to the right side of the frame behing and above the man's back/ head.

I really love this one. I love the minimalist effect of this perspective. The composition is perfect with the writing on the floor. Beautiful!
