If you want to adjust your monitor, take a look at Norman Koren's monitor calibration page. It has a lot of good information. You may want to set your monitor gamma, that is a very important setting.

Turn up the brightness on your monitor. If you still can't see it then I think it is time to buy a new monitor.

not sure what you were going for with the cutouts. very distracting.

Sorry, that masking job is really not good. Perhaps you need to increase the brightness of your monitor to see the problem.

Something funny around the peppers... looks like you tried to black of the back ground without succes !

Something doesn't look right -- the cutouts are very obvious.

Nice lighting and colors on the peppers. One thing I notice though, there's quite a bit of lighter area around the peppers though compared to the rest of the black background. There's a couple ways that would take care of this. My favorite way (since this is advanced editing) would be to use the quick mask tool and mask out the peppers (paint over the peppers with a hard-edged brush in the quick mask tool), then slide the brightness down a bit. Do that and you have a nice shot there.

I am not sure about the editing you did here. Looks strange.

I really like the contrast here, the red against the black background. But the cut out portion is visible?? Would have had a lot more "pop" if it were blended or cloned out..(5)

I can see every line and expert you cut out around this.

I would suggest when you are finished editing, turn your monitor brightness all the way up to make sure you didn't miss any spots.

Looks like you either need to adjust your montior settings or are trying to be creative. I can see distinct cutout lines around the peppers and not even precise ones.

I can see where you erased/darkened the background, there are huge areas you missed around the peppers.

I don't know if it's just my monitor but I see a gray outline around the peppers.

The peppers themselves look good. However, there is a clear line around them where the background isn't as dark as the rest.

There is a halo around the pepers

There is some sort of editing shadow around the peppers which is very distracting.

Harsh editing. Tone your brightness up a bit and you will see what I am talking about. If I tone down mine, this looks really good.

look like some funky odd colored shapes going on in the background...that's a little distracting would be better all black background imo
