This is an excellent centrally composed image!amazing how something as common as a fan can become art so quickly -- great job |

I love it, great image; I love seeing photographs that see something that I might have missed, or see it in a different way, as you've done here (as others have already said). I might have been tempted to rotate this maybe 1 or 2 degrees counter-clockwise (or anti-clockwise, if you prefer). The left side is straight, but the right is the tiniest bit off (but if you rotated, it would converge a touch toward the bottom, and I'm not that would be better, just different). |

The crop, the framing, the lighting all are right on. The waiting worked so very well for you. |

Nice composing with the way the circles are a bit off center. lots of lines and curves and a very metallic look to it too. These ventilators have been around for a long time, and the wind turns them and makes them pull hot air out of a building. They are a very energy efficient (green) way of helping cool a place, and help to keep humidity lower inside. Most of these have a shutter that can be closed when it is cold outside.
I never would have thought to photograph one from directly below for it's graphic quality. |

Great contrast of shapes...square, circle and even triangle. I never would've guessed it was a fan! |

How interesting! It looks like a framed print. What a great photographer's eye you have to see art in the ordinary things. And you did with excellence! Awesome.

hi lisa ...
still reckon this is an awesome image!! .. maybe one of these days dpc might organise some sort of challenge involving ppl from different countries?? ..
left an answer about water on my photo, but realised that you'd probably never see it ... then thought of a PM but i'll leave a msg here instead ... so many choices!!! ..
we're on tank water so we dont have the same restrictions you do .. i've had to buy heaps of water in the last year, but have heard that its still a lot cheaper than town water .. i get matt to measure the water in the tank before he washes any cars, coz if you dont check it regularly you can be caught out badly ... and if we have a power failure here then we dont have anything .. no water, no cooking .. nothing .. coz the water is on a pump which runs on electricity ... so when there's a storm and we think we'll lose power, we often fill up the bath so at least we can flush the toilet !! .. |
