I know you probably didn't have the opportunity to get a really low f-stop here. But at the 3.5 range, the bokeh would have been incredible on this!
Nice shot. Hard to get good light under these conditions. |

| I love the color against the dreary winter colors! Compositionally, I'd suggest cropping off a bit of the bottom and right side to get him out of the middle. |

| Very pretty. I love Cardinals, they are beautiful birds. But we don't have them in Newfoundland and I have only ever seen one before. |

congratulations on your patience ... and it certainly paid off ..
this is very similar to another shot i've seen in a challenge, altho i see so many i'm not sure of the details .. the other one i think was a tighter crop .. but they probably the same sort of bird ..
love the bright red contrasting with the cold snow and the branches .. like a touch of warmth . |

Is it a tight crop? it looks a bit grainy. Really nice how it stands out, here I have a cardinal as a neighbor but he is not a very willing model LOL besides the background here never helps.

| I love how bright the cardinal is...we don't get many of them down here in Florida. He stands out so beautifully against the gray winter background. |
