Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. And I'm glad you liked my image and "pushed" it near the "ribbon area".

Processing steps (as much as I can remember):

The entry is composed of 2 images: the main one (the portrait) and the 2nd one containing the lens.

- Background Copy
- Crop
- Brush tool to outline the "stiches" or skin cracks (under the lens)
- Burn under the lens, on the neck area (lower right on the image) in the upper-left area near the lens and in the "stiches" area to emphasize the texture/rendition of cracks in the skin
- Dodge on the left area near the lens and again on the "stiches" to create volume and texture on skin.
- masked copy on another layer only the eyes and apply USM
- mask copy on another layer the upper part of the hood on my head and apply blur to "hide" a bit the texture of it.
- Masked levels on the left of the image on the hood only
- 1 layer of channel mixer to change to monochrome
- another layer of channel mixer to tint for the blue-orange feeling.
- Masked levels under the lens (on the "stiches" area)
- Masked Bright.-Contrast layer in the same spot
- Selective color layer overall to dark red and black components
- Masked levels layer to add vignetting

- Bitmap layer added for the lens image (from my second photo)
- clone out text (it remained only the phi58mm text)
- Burn, dodge and smudge to "weather" the edge of the lens, also added cracks on the same method as for the skin "stiches"
- Masked levels only for the lens
- 1 layer of channel mixer (mask on lens) to change to monochrome
- another layer to tint (as on the main image)
- final levels layer (overall)

It's a pleasure to see you at DPC, Mr. Townshend. This image says so much about the introspective nature of your songwriting. I hope to see it on the cover of your next album. 9

It looks like you have a great eye for photography. Ok that was a stupid joke, but I really like your shot here, the editing is sweet and it looks like a great poster for a movie. Love the grunge effect also. Well done.

Really cool. 58mm cyborg thing is really working there, does not seem to make you a disabled photographer in any way. :)

OK, this is the image that stands out in the thumbnails.. Great concept, nice editing. This is something you would expect from a Tim Burton/Jonny Depp project.. I think we will see this on the frontpage.. well done.. 10

captivating. Not sure what the lens is for, but the fact I am asking questions is a good thing!!

I really really like this. My only complaint (and I am being totally picky) is that the 58mm is to bright. I know you want people to know what it is, but it should be weathered like the rest of the photo. People will figure it out. 10

Extremely creative and well done, my kind of stuff :D I really hope you are doing ok, but knowing from own experience, a lot of DPC voters dont apreciate this kind of "creepybutcool" ideas..
