I'd rather "entrance to faith" but whatever... nice picture

Technically a great photo, but (personally, obviously) the picture alone feels a tad abstract from the 'entrance' theme.

Excellent! I love this photo! The tonal range is good, I like the way the figure is sitting with his bare feet showing and the knife, bottle and cigarettes lying in the corner really add to the 'story'.

Think it could be cropped just a bit tighter at the top.

Great shot and take on the challenge. Nice touch with the broken bottle, knife and cigs. I love the side lighting like a high window in jail. Excellent composition and contrast. This would have made a great B/W portrait entry too...The only thing negative I can see is the two bright spots on his right side...just a little distracting to me. (9)

I don't understand what are the cigarette, the knife and the bottle supposed to mean. How do they help this photo?

It seems that you had some great light there, covering just half of the book. I guess giving more thoughts to it might have put a more dramatic effect to the book, that is by darkening the shadows more. Also, the shadow of the body cast on the wall doesn't help at all.

Still, a good idea that needs returning to.

Like the idea...

I like this more the longer I look at it. At first, I did not like the limited (to my eye, at least) range of tones but it kind of adds to the atmosphere. The skin tones are great. Nicely done.
