This was taken in Fiesole, a small hill town overlooking Florence, Italy. It is a sculpture dedicated to the Caribinieri. The real background, which I replaced, was of a hazy, washed out, valley which was also over exposed. I wanted to give the sculpture, which was perhaps 10 feet tall, a smaller museum piece look.
This is my first entry with expert editing. An experiment.
Removed the background.
Gened up a new background with 3 gradient layers, each with about 50% opacity.
Blurred the new background.
Curves on the subject to get the color the way I wanted and to increase contrast.
Save for Web.
